Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and businesswoman. The most famous character is Emily Fields, she is a star of the Freeform television series Pretty Little Liars. After achieving great results in modeling and dancing, she wanted to get into acting and took acting lessons in Toronto. Mitchell landed some commercials as well as appearances in television series. The break came but it was when she performed Emily Fields' role in Pretty Little Liars. The acting abilities of her character were highly praised by both critics and fans. The actress went on to make a mark on the big screen by starring in films such as DreamlandMother's Dayand The Possession of Hannah Grace. Her role in the thriller with a psychological theme "You" brought her more attention. She is the author of an adult-oriented novel titled Bliss which she co-wrote together with Michaela Blaney. Shay Mitchell was raised in Ontario with her parents Mark Mitchell & Precious Gonzalez. She was born 10th April, 1987. Her mother is a Filipina and her father is of Irish and Scottish heritage. Mitchell is also the relative to Lea Salonga - a famous actor and musical theatre performer. Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary, before switching to West Vancouver Secondary. At the end of her teenage years she was modeling for several companies around the globe. After traveling across the globe to Barcelona, Bangkok and Hong Kong she went back to Toronto, where she studied acting.
